After five years of running a homebirth practice, I am thrilled to share that Empowered Midwifery and Wellness has finally found a building to become the home of Alexandria’s first free-standing, midwifery-run birth center. This is a dream that has been years in the making, and it’s one that comes from listening to the needs of families in our community. The building we’ve found is full of potential, but it will require significant remodeling to create a safe, welcoming, and comfortable space for families to welcome their babies. Over the years, I have worked hard to set aside savings and have been in contact with a lender to secure financing. However, there is still a gap between what I have been able to save and what is needed for the down payment and renovations. That’s where I am reaching out for help.

Any funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward the construction and remodeling of the birth center. My team and I have already invested in equipment through our home birth practice and clinic, so your support will make a direct impact on transforming this building into a beautiful, functional space for families. Our goal is to create an environment that feels like home—one where families feel supported, respected, and empowered throughout their birthing experience.
