Who We Are: Search & Rescue Recovery Group is a nonprofit organization based in Genesee County, focusing on providing safe, stable, and supportive housing for individuals rebuilding their lives after addiction, homelessness, incarceration, trauma, and other significant life challenges.

Our Purpose: Search & Rescue Recovery Group was created for people who have survived the hardest chapters of life—addiction, incarceration, abuse, homelessness, military service trauma, disability, and the uncertainty faced by young adults aging out of foster care. These people are our neighbors who are ready to rebuild, but who need one critical thing first: a safe, stable place to live. Recently, Search & Rescue Recovery Group was unexpectedly blessed with the donation of a home to be used as transitional sober living housing. This home represents hope—a second chance—and a tangible answer to prayer for people who have nowhere else to go. But while the home itself was given freely, preparing it to safely welcome residents comes with real and immediate costs.

Our Request to You: We need your help to make necessary repairs and safety upgrades, furnish the home with beds, dressers, and basic necessities, cover utilities, insurance, administrative fees, and inspections, and prepare the house to open its doors to its very first residents. This home will provide structured, supportive housing for individuals in recovery seeking a sober environment, veterans transitioning back to civilian life, adults with disabilities who need stability, men and women returning from incarceration, survivors of abuse, and young adults aging out of foster care.

Please donate. No donation is too small. You would not be just giving money—you would be helping create a second chance, a safe place, and a path forward. From all of us at Search & Rescue Recovery Group, we pray that you will stand with us and help bring this home to life. This first home will be a sober living home, and it will be the first of many we hope to open to provide safe, supportive housing for people in recovery, veterans, adults with disabilities, those returning from incarceration, survivors of abuse, and young adults aging out of foster care. We also welcome donation of gently used household furnishings for the living room, bedrooms, kitchen, and in-home office to prepare residents to return to the workforce. All donations are tax deductible in accordance with the IRS Tax Code for non-profit organizations. Our year-end Annual Report will provide detailed information regarding all donations received and how funds were expended for the benefit of individuals we serve. Please share this link with family, friends, and businesses you know who may be willing to help those in need of the services provided by Search & Rescue Recovery Group. We appreciate your consideration of our requests. “Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” — Psalm 82:4
