Help Olivia and Family Afford a Place to Live
Donation protected
Olivia Berneche and her family have seen more than their fair share of loss. Olivia’s husband Garrett died in 2019 after 2.5 years of grueling cancer treatments, and only 13 months later, the family lost Gabby, Olivia’s beloved niece and kindred spirit.
In the years since, Olivia has Done. The. Work. She and her kids, Bruin, Calliope, and Mina (and Sunny the pup), have worked HARD to heal, settle into a new rhythm, and find a grounding force after their world was ripped out from under them.
And now they are being uprooted again.
Earlier this month, Olivia was notified unexpectedly that her landlord is selling their house, and her family must be out by February. The same week, Olivia also learned her work hours were being cut.
It’s already a struggle to keep a family of five afloat with one income — which means Olivia has depleted her savings.
That’s where you come in.
By donating whatever you can, you can help Olivia focus on finding a place that meets her family’s needs, rather than stressing about how she’s going to pay for it. She will need funds to secure a place, to move four people and a dog, and to pay rent while she searches for new sources of income.
Olivia and her family deserve some peace and stability. Let’s help them afford it.

About the organizer
I'm Pam Eisenberg, and I met Olivia through a young widow support group. We bonded over our dark sense of humor and the weird similarities between our late husbands, and now we have a fiercely supportive community of young widows in the DC/MD/VA area. We call ourselves the Widcoven. When we heard Olivia needed help, we were all in.
