Help Oceana's ASBC Fund Their Upcoming Events
Donation protected
Dear potential donors,
The student leaders who design, plan, and put on every major event at Pacifica, California’s Oceana High School, need your help to fulfill their yearly mission of minor and major event planning after the pandemic years made their normal fundraising campaigns impossible to implement.
The OHS Associated Student Body Congress are a group of exceptional elected and appointed student leaders who are responsible for planning events from Back to School Night in the Fall to prom in the Spring. Our upcoming calendar is already packed with events that the OHS student body have come to expect and eagerly anticipate. Normally, each class would have worked hard over the past couple of years to raise the much-needed funds to make these long-awaited and sometimes expensive events happen, but the pandemic stifled those efforts. A couple of our graduating classes, through no fault of their own, have only a mere $300 in their class’ account when they would normally have thousands of dollars. As an example of our upcoming expenses, our prom alone will cost well over $10,000 once all of the expenses, including insurance, are paid.
We are not asking for donations in lieu of other fundraising efforts that would normally occur--we are still working hard to raise money through the conventional means. We are asking for your much appreciated donations in an effort to get our student accounts back where they used to be.
Many believe that events planned by ASB are funded by tax dollars and/or our school district, but this is not the case. Our students must raise the funds themselves. So please help them breathe easier by helping to fund this year’s events that will raise the morale and spirit of a student body who only recently stepped-foot on campus after an absence of well over a year. The students need this. The students deserve this.
Thank you very much,
