Oakland Chinatown Recovery & Resiliency Fund
Tax deductible
Hi. My name is Arlene Lum and I represent both the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce (OCCC) and the Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation.
Since 1985, Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce has served as the leading business organization in Oakland Chinatown, promoting economic growth and advocating for the Asian community. Today, we proudly represent over 300 members across a wide range of industries.
In response to the economic challenges our community has faced, we established the Oakland Chinatown Recovery and Resiliency Fund in 2020. This fund provides direct financial support to local businesses to help with repairing broken glass and gates, street cleaning, removing boarded storefronts, graffiti removal, and recovery from crime-related damages.
"Many of our small businesses are run by immigrants and multi-generational families who have poured their lives into serving the community. Supporting these businesses is not just about preserving jobs—it's about protecting the cultural identity, resilience, and long-term economic health of Chinatown. When we invest in these businesses, we invest in the future of our entire community," says Stephanie Tran, President of Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce
But we can't do it alone. We need your support. Oakland Chinatown is a vibrant, historic neighborhood filled with beloved restaurants, bakeries, clothing stores, grocery stores, boba shops, and businesses offering professional and personal services. Your donation will help us preserve Oakland Chinatown for residents and visitors alike.
Please consider making a donation today—and spread the word. Every dollar raised goes directly to helping Oakland Chinatown businesses recover and thrive.
Contributions are processed through the Oakland Chinatown Chamber Foundation, OCCC's fiscal sponsor and a 501c3 non-profit organization (FEIN is 37-1433643). Your donation is tax deductible to the extent of the law. You can also donate to the OCC Foundation through your workplace giving campaigns, such as Benevity, PayPal Giving, Schwab and Creative Healthy Community.
