The graduate students in NYU’s Workshop in Applied Peacebuilding have spent over a year learning and practicing the tools necessary to pave paths towards peace—identifying needs, constructing sustainable economic development and peace education, and integrating marginalized voices, all informed by, deferred to, and in coordination with locals affected by crisis.

Students in this workshop are encouraged to take on summer consultations and apply their learned skills to the real world. Our students will be working all across the world in Malawi, Jordan, Iraq, Colombia, Libya, and Kenya. We will be working on a range of projects with our host organizations, focusing on everything from environmental concerns, youth education, and female empowerment to AI-driven election monitoring, data gathering, and the building of accessible information systems.

We are excited to work with these organizations on the ground and bring our fresh perspectives and ideas to the world of peacebuilding.

But peacebuilding is, by definition, a community effort, and we cannot do it without the support of ours. Our students are committing to their consultations without financial compensation to get experience and their first foot in the door of this field. We would love your financial support to cover the cost of flights and accommodations. Our fundraising goal will be split evenly between all our students, so any amount you are willing to donate will chip away at the cost and be greatly appreciated.
