Nova Horizons has new home! Can you help with renovations?

A new home for Nova Horizons - 380A Bedford Highway! It’s been 4 months since we had to vacate our previous location and since then a lot of displaced people have arrived and are working hard to start their new life in Nova Scotia. From Palestine alone, over 100 families have chosen to start from scratch and re-build their future in our province.

The NS Resettlement Society supports displaced people who’ve had to make incredibly tough decisions. Our relocation is also a big move for the NS Resettlement Society and we’re excited about the opportunities and new responsibilities it brings! There are improved facilities for loading and unloading furniture; parking is much improved; there’s room to display household donations; and a great new program space.

We’ve learnt first-hand about the amazing skills and energy immigrants bring to our province. Newcomers who were displaced by war and received past support from Nova Horizons are enthusiastically working their magic to turn a garage into a welcoming space for others fleeing unimaginable danger! The hard work of volunteers, and previous support from donors, made the relocation possible.

However, the move also presents new financial responsibilities for the NS Resettlement Society. There are new line items in our very modest budget – $5,000 for renovations; and an additional $2000 a month for rent and utilities.

As we work to expand our revenue sources we hope you will consider contributing to the immediate renovation and operating costs.
