After 17 years, I made the difficult and life-changing decision to leave a domestic violence relationship. Leaving was one of the hardest things I have ever done. For years, my children and I lived in fear, anxiety, and survival mode. The abuse affected every part of our lives and left lasting emotional and physical impacts on our family. But with faith, courage, and the strength God gave me, I finally found the courage to leave and choose safety, healing, and peace for myself and my children. Since leaving, our home has felt lighter. My son has begun to heal and feels safer in ways I haven’t seen in years. For the first time in a long time, we are beginning to experience peace.
Just as we were starting this new chapter, our car broke down completely. After putting money into repairs, I was told by the mechanic that the car is no longer reliable and needs to be replaced. As a single mother rebuilding after leaving abuse, I am doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I do not have the financial ability to replace our vehicle on my own right now. I am raising my children while also helping care for my grandchildren, and reliable transportation is essential for our family.
A dependable car would allow me to get to work, take my son to school and therapy, attend my own medical appointments, go to church and Bible study, and safely care for my children and grandchildren. Reliable transportation is one of the biggest things standing between survival and stability for my family.
If you feel led to support our journey, any donation—no matter the amount—or even sharing this fundraiser would mean so much to me and my children. Your kindness would be a blessing as we continue rebuilding our lives with faith, healing, and hope.
