Hello, my name is "L" a.k.a. Nomad & I am a South Orange County resident & retired environmental science educator in California. I have recently joined the First Amendment Auditors movement where Freedom Loving individuals in every state test our First Amendment Rights in public spaces, as well as a to educate others on the five pillars of the First Amendment. Auditors also make sure that local police, Sheriff Depts., private security guards & city officials respect & understand what our First Amendment Rights are & that they are serving their communities as a public servants; not as tyrants or biased individuals.

After experiencing some negative interactions with both a local Law Enforcement agency & a private security guard in my city's shopping center, for no apparent reason during the pandemic, whilst trying to get needed items & services, I became an advocate for police & security guard accountability, as well as a public educator on surveillance abuse issues & information privacy. Since I live on a limited income, I use my car's back window as my primary way to post educational websites like EFF.org, EPIC.org & NLG-NPAP.org, as well as document my on-going (and other's) interactions with local police agencies & security contractors in order to educate the general public, post my findings to social media sites & write a future paper on these topics.

The above said led to more surveillance & intimidation by both localized police & security contractors, as well as many individuals in my community; including City Government Officals & their employees. These experiences have completely & negatively altered my life as are so many lives across the U.S. when dealing with police who don't respect the Bill of Rights. By trying to exercise my Civil Rights via Free Speech, Freedom of the Press & Free Expression I was falsely detained & then arrested by the local Law Enforcement Agency in my city. I was told I had to leave a local public park and could not return or be arrested for Trespassing. When I tried to ask why and what was the reasoning, and had I committed a crime, I could not get a straight answer. Moments later I was arrested, my car was illegally searched then towed (4th Amendment Violation) & I was taken to a women's jail & put in a holding cell with no shoes, no socks, no toilet paper & no food & water (false imprisonment). Because of my disabilities from a long-term illness, I became hypo-thermaic, nauseous, dehydrated, & as a result I got a cluster migraine which effected my vision; among other injuries suffered. All told, I spent two days in jail & three days in the hospital for injuries suffered whilst in police custody after I got released.

They falsely charged me with PC 372 (public nuisance) a charge that applies to nuisance barking, over-grown shrubs, loud parties & the like. None of these offences apply to me & I was never given any warning by any public law enforcement entity about wrong-doing which is required prior to charging someone with PC 372 (malicious prosecution). It is because of my free speech activities & public photography that I was arrested in order to intimidate & silence me, as well as to inflict debilitating debt that will take years to pay off.

Due to the nature of the false charges & the violation of my Civil Rights & Liberties, I need to hire a professional Criminal Attorney that specializes in First Amendment violations & police misconduct in order to be represented fairly in court. Because I live on a very modest income, I am asking friends, my local supportive community, other First Amendment Auditors & the general public who believe in & support the Bill of Rights; particularly the Five Pillars of the First Amendment, to help me raise the funds to pay for my Criminal Defense Attorney.

I need to raise between $2500 to $3000 in approximately the next 4 to 6 weeks in order to be professionally & fairly represented in what has become a kangaroo court. I'm doing my part by taking out personal loans & selling family heirlooms to help me fund my legal bills, but I really need any financial help you can give to help me reach my legal defense goals. Any amount will be greatly appreciated & there is no amount too small or too great. By helping me successfully navigate these false charges & First Amendment violations with professional representation, you will be helping yourself & others in your community who have had their Civil Rights Violated in one form or another, by Law Enforcement and/or other Government Officials. You will also be supporting the First Amendment Auditor movement & the people who defend our personal rights & freedoms everyday so that they are never taken away from us!
