Our dear friend Nissa True, the heart and soul behind Smithville Pizza Shoppe, has lost everything in a matter of moments.
A devastating grease fire that began in a neighboring restaurant quickly spread through the entire strip mall—burning it to the ground. Nissa’s restaurant, the place she poured her blood, sweat, and countless hours into, is now gone. Every detail she carefully built over the years—everything from pizza ovens to soda machines to neon signs- all personal touches that made her shoppe so special—has been completely destroyed.
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that Nissa was just days away from moving into a new location. Her equipment, savings, important documents—everything she needed for that next chapter—was still inside the restaurant when the fire hit.
Insurance is minorly helping with the loss of everything, but it unfortunately does not cover 100%, not even 70%.
This fundraiser is being organized by fellow Pizza Shoppe owners and close friends of Nissa—people who understand firsthand the dedication, sacrifice, and love it takes to build something like she did. We’ve come together to support one of our own during an unimaginable loss.
