I'm excited to introduce you to Nirina, a truly inspiring friend and sister from Madagascar who embodies resilience, creativity, and the spirit of adventure. I've known her for 15 years, from another life when I worked with her and her late husband helping to replant Madagascar's rainforests. Nirina has faced more than her fair share of hardships and tragedies, but she has never let them dim her incredible dream of seeing the world.

Growing up in a small village in Madagascar, Nirina learned early on that life isn't always easy. But where others might have seen obstacles, Nirina always sees opportunities. After her husband died tragically a few years ago, she was left with almost nothing. She used her entrepreneurial spirit to raise chickens and a milk cow to make ends meet. She even tried panning for specks of gold in the river, just so she could make a few extra dollars each month. Nirina used every setback as a stepping stone to something greater.

Now, Nirina has an incredible opportunity to turn her lifelong dream into reality: she has found a way to travel the world by working on a cruise ship! This job will not only allow her to explore new places and cultures but also provide her with invaluable skills and experiences. However, before she can set sail, she needs a bit of help to cover the initial costs for her passport, vaccinations, necessary documentation, some prerequisite training, and a flight to her port-of-call.
