My husband, Alex, and I have been walking a long and painful road with infertility and IVF for the past three years. Many of you know I battled cancer at 16, but what you may not know is that it also took away my ability to become a mom naturally.

Becoming a mother has been my dream for as long as I can remember. We’ve poured our hearts, hopes, and over $40,000 into this journey, with help from some generous grants and significant out-of-pocket costs. Most recently, we experienced a devastating loss when our first embryo transfer failed.

To try again, the next round of IVF will cost between $10,000 and $12,000 upfront. It’s a heavy burden, both emotionally and financially.
