Help Nikita, Katya, and Adelina get a fresh start

We are accepting two refugee families into our home this December, and this fund will be distributed equally between them to help with their basic necessities like bus and ferry fare, toiletries, a phone plan etc.

Adelina is from the city of Kherson. She is 25 years old. She leaves a mother and 11 year old brother sheltering in Italy, whom she hopes to be able to provide for. She is quite extraordinary! She speaks English very fluently, Ukrainian, Russian, Portuguese, French and Spanish!! In speaking to her, her English is completely fluent. She has a business degree. She hopes to find work and a place to live in Vancouver. Kherson was occupied early in the war and she and her family have suffered a lot, and lost everything. She will be living with us in our guest room. She is coming with only 1 bag. She arrives December 10th.

Katya and Nick are from the city of Vinnitsa. They were living in residence at university when their city was bombed, they lived without power or heat for a long period before escaping to Poland. Nick is a mechanic, Katya has worked in shipping logistics. Their English is conversational. They also are aiming to find jobs and a place to live in Vancouver. As a mechanic, apparently Nick has already received a couple job offers so they might not be with us for long. It takes a few weeks to get paperwork sorted so that he is allowed to start working. They are in their early twenties, and are also arriving with not much. They say they have warm clothes and enough money for the trip. They will be staying in our little tiny house in the yard which we normally use for summer staff. They arrive December 5th.
