Donation protected
Our family wants to thank everyone for all the love and support shown for Niki. We really appreciate each and every one of you! The donations will be put towards final expenses. Again thank you! You are appreciated!

Update: Niki gained her wings this evening, she put up one heck of a fight. Our lives will never be the same without her being here and our hearts are completely broken.

My sister, Niki Warner’s nightmare started February 7, the day after her 40th Birthday. She had been sick and was diagnosed with pneumonia a few days prior. On February 7, she was having chest pain and shortness of breath, so her husband Brent took her to NKC Hospital ER. It was discovered at that ER visit that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was then transferred to St. Luke’s Hospital where they started chemo treatments for the leukemia. She was doing so good! She rocked that first round of chemo. She had completed 7 days in a row of chemo and we all just knew she could beat this!

Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse on February 19, when she was diagnosed with a bad brain bleed. We were told she may not make it thru the night, she was on life support/ventilator. Our entire world was crushed, but in true Niki fashion she did make it thru the night. She has told us from the beginning “I’m tough as nails!” A 2nd brain scan was done and did confirm brain bleed had worsened. At this point the Dr.’s came in to talk to all of the family. We were told the brain damage to her brain stem is non-treatable, the damage is to severe. Basically we had to decide at what point when we wanted to remove the life support and start comfort care measures. We are all beyond devastated at this point, but we knew Niki would not want to be kept alive by a machine when there was no hope left for any type of improvement to her condition. She is currently in the hospital on comfort care.

A little bit about Niki, she is the wife to Brent Warner, who she dearly loves and mother to Lillyanne King, and step mother to Derek, Daniel, and Breanna Warner. Also lots of other family whom she loved dearly. Let’s not forget her 4 legged baby, Bruno! Niki is an RN who has touched many lives, she loved being a nurse and was so good at it!

Please continue to pray for Niki and all of her family as these are the most difficult days of our lives.
