Last night, a devastating house fire in Pawtucket, Rhode Island turned my friend, Nicole’s, life upside down. While thankfully the home itself is still salvageable, the fire completely destroyed her bedroom and bathroom, leaving much of her personal space and belongings gone.

Right now, the full extent of the damage is still unknown, and we will update this page as more information becomes available. In the meantime, she has been temporarily placed in a hotel with help from the Red Cross. However, once that assistance runs out, the cost of temporary housing will quickly become a financial burden.

At the moment, she is starting from scratch and needs help with the basics—clothing, toiletries, and replacing essential items like a bed and bedding. She will also likely be responsible for paying the deductible on her homeowner’s insurance before repairs to her home can begin.
