Hi, our names are Raven, Jamie, and Matt
We're a polyamorous couple who've fallen on less than auspicious times this year. Raven is disabled and unable to work, Jamie and Matt used to work int he same job before February, and Jamie now unfortunately works a significantly less paying job for less hours.
In February of this year, Jamie was unjustly let go from his job, and due to the job market early in the year, was unable to secure new work for two months. During this time, he unfortunately racked up significant credit card debt to get by.
In march, the stress of no longer having Jamie to help at work triggered a hereby undiagnosed episode in Matt that mimicked a stroke and lead to him being rushed to the hospital. While it thankfully was not a stroke, later tests and numerous visits to the ER and doctor every time he has a repeat of these episodes, has lead to no answers and significant medical and credit card debt while Matt is out of work.
On top of this, we also owe over 1500 dollars to the IRS for taxes this year, as Matt makes just enough to cause them to tax the entirety of Raven's disability.
Raven's disability is also up in the air, as he's currently going through what should be a regular re-evaluation, but due to issues with the mail, several forms have not arrived in time, or at all, leading to subsequent letters letting him know he could have his already bare-bones benefits taken away.
We're looking just for some help, to knock some bills out so we have to stress less than we currently are. Jamie has over 10k in credit card debt, as well as a car loan, Matt has over 5k in credit card debt and unknown amounts of medical debt, and Raven is just, in general, poor due to disability paying roughly the equivalent of 5.50 an hour.
Below are individual messages from each of us.
Matt:
Hi!
My name is Matt! I'm a 32 year old gay, living with my husband and roommates! I've been working since I was 20, and I like to work. I don't mind not having days off nor do I mind long hours.
However, recently I've come down with something that's giving me issues. A lot of days I can't think, can't focus, and can barely get outta bed. This leads to me calling in a lot recently. I've been to the ER more times this year then the rest of my life combined.
Sadly, it leaves me feeling stir crazy. I like.to work. Secondly, no one seems to have an answers for me. I go through round after round of testing, but no one has anything conclusive- most of the time they can't even find anything abnormal. Finally, it leaves me financially insecure. All of my savings have gone to medical bills and groceries. I am deeply in debt with credit card companies and the hospital. Although I would love to be able to work enough to pay them off, I can barely afford the basics right now.
Jamie:
As the year winds towards the end,
Our hardships continue to grow dire. We preserve the best we can, but these past few months have been some of the hardest we’ve had to endure, and our fear of being able to handle these burdens ever wanes. It has been a struggle for some of us simply to turn to the few the options we have left, such as gofundme, but our situation gradually continues on a downward spiral we are desperately fighting to get a single step forward, all while some days force us to take two or more back.
The only consolation we have now is that this is a fight the three of us have each other for, each one of us doing what we can just to make sure the other two can keep going, but we are in need of help, because each day, it feels like something tighter is latching on.
Raven:
There isn't much else I can add. Things are dire between medical bills, tax debt, and credit card debt. We're at the precipice of drowning. Any help you can give us will be wonderful, and appreciated more than we could ever convey. If nothing else, I thank you dearly for reading this far, for hearing our story.
