Lately I’ve been trying to be very honest about my situation and allowing myself to be vulnerable and transparent about the help that I need. It's very hard to put yourself out there, but my own pride is small against the life of my first born child.
So here I am, asking for support:
I am pregnant and am asking for support to pay for doula services, as well as other things I may need to have a natural birth experience.
Without going into too much, I've never felt comfortable in hospitals and that feeling has just grown after recent events, especially in this COVID era. I'd love to have a birth where my close ones can be unrestrictingly present, and in an environment where my anxiety isn't suffocating me, along with enduring labor. As soon as I came to know of the services and support Doula’s provide for a birthing person, it became my goal to be able to have one.
Having a Doula in the birthing process is important to me as she will provide information on how to be more attuned to my body and developing baby, provide support during childbirth, and give coaching that will decrease the likelihood of having a painful birthing experience, and overall improve the perception of the birthing experience, especially in a natural birth.
In addition, my plan is to return to the Gambia (God willing) so I can raise baby with my partner. *Therefore, I will not be having a baby registry, as carrying all those items back would be too much. I'd love to use this page also as a way people can give support to make our first few months as parents more easeful, where I can use the funds to buy the things I'll need, just as diapers, clothes, etc.*
Thank you so much for your time and help!
