This GoFundMe is for our beloved local nonprofit farm—Newhall Fields Community Farm—located at 189 Lynn St. in Peabody, MA. Our mission is to grow accessible, nutritious food and sustain a healthy environment using regenerative organic agriculture while focusing on education and community engagement.
These past few years, with the help of volunteers and partnerships with other local organizations, we've been so proud of the food we've grown and donated to Haven From Hunger—our local food rescue and emergency provider. We've relied heavily on volunteers like you to make this critical resource available. Being unable to work with our cherished community makes it ever more challenging to provide large quantities of fresh produce to Haven From Hunger. That being said, we have a solution, and this is where we need your help!
All is not lost. To maintain the momentum of this organization, we have an amazing, knowledgeable farmer working with us. Laboring tirelessly without the support of our usual volunteers, this generous, hardworking farmer endures so those who need food are not without. In this, we see many positives: we are going to do what we do best—grow food that will feed our community. There are lots of amazing souls out there willing to help, and arguably more opportunity than ever for you to get involved from afar!
If you're itching to give back in some way, love what we're working towards, and want to support it regardless of where you are, you can help us have a bountiful harvest for the community in 3 different ways:
1) Donate funds to help pay our farmer (as well as fund additional farm/nonprofit expenses such as supplies, tools/equipment, education, website, etc). Financial donations are our most urgent need, though there are more ways to support us below. Our farmer has been beyond flexible and consistent—please help us show her our appreciation for her hard work, knowledge, skill, and faith in us during this pandemic.
2) Donate supplies. If you or someone you know is doing some spring cleaning, please refer to the list below and see if you have anything you would like to donate. We’re happy to arrange a pickup or drop off. Please fill out this form, or reach out to us at [email redacted] and we can coordinate.
3) Share this online and with friends/family. Help us spread the word—it makes all the difference!
Like many, our hopes of an exciting first quarter have come to a screeching halt, but we remain optimistic. We've been so touched by our community's generosity and willingness to help each other that we thought we would give GoFundMe a try. It's our hope and dream that if you have something to donate, you will consider our cause.
*We are in the process of becoming tax-exempt organization (we are a registered non-profit charity in MA and are pending a 501(c)3 status so we cannot fund-raise as a tax-exempt nonprofit on GoFundMe yet, but pending status approval, donations will be tax deductible) and acknowledgement letters can be provided. *

- Old tools (rakes, shovels, hand tools, pruners, shears, weeders, etc.)
- Buckets (3+gallon buckets would be amazing), larger totes/containers
- Pots and plastic stacking trays (for seedlings)
