Nevaeh is my youngest of three daughters and in May of this year we discovered at her yearly pediatrician appointment that she was unable to hear out of her right ear. We didn’t know how severe or how little this would be for her so from May up until now we have been going through Endless hoops, testings MRIs to try and find out how she is unable to hear out of her right ear at this point since she has always had hearing in both ears. After endless doctors visits to Childrens a couple MRIs later and testing we have figured out that she needs a bone conduction surgery and that as many of you know can and is very costly. For the past couple of months, I’ve been trying my hardest to do side hustles like Instacart and DoorDash to come up with the money myself to pay for a bone conduction device and the surgery she will need because it is a specialty. My insurance does not cover it. They have stated that since she has full hearing in her left ear, it is not “necessary “by being her mother, and knowing she already has a speech delay that is necessary to me because she has trouble hearing when it’s noisy and places if sound is coming from the right side it is difficult for her to hear what is going on as well as like I said her speech, not being where it needs to be as a five-year-old in kindergarten. So this bone conduction device and surgery is extremely beneficial to her to help her succeed in school and be able to hear and speak better with speech therapy after all surgeries and bone conduction devices have been in place if you feel in your heart that you would love to donate to my daughter to help her.
