Hi! My name is Rachel and I'm a member of the South Perry District community in Spokane, WA. I am looking raise funds to help neuter a feral cat family in my neighborhood - one mama cat and two kittens.
South Perry seems to have a fairly large feral cat population, and neutering the cats is a humane way to allow them to live outdoors while controlling the population and minimizing the stress and health risks that female cats my incur due to pregnancy. Controlling feral cat populations also increases safety for other neighborhood cats, as well as local bird populations.
Each female feline spay surgery costs around $100, and I would also love to provide them rabies and FVRCP vaccinations if resources allow. A quality, humane trap costs about $70-$100. I am hoping to borrow traps from community members, but I am preparing to purchase them if need be. I am anticipating a total cost of about $500-$700, and would be super grateful for any community help to mitigate costs. Thank you for your consideration, and please feel free to ask any questions!
