Next Mile Youth (NMY) is a youth running initiative developed by Middleton High School student and varsity cross country runner Nethan Kaluarachchi. NMY offers a structured, inclusive, and accessible running program for children in the Galle district of Sri Lanka. NMY's mission is to help Sri Lankan youth who struggle with obesity and mental health issues to build community and work together toward improving their overall health and well-being through running.

Through partnerships with local organizations, including Hope to Others, Transformation Center, Fleet Feet, and Girls on the Run, we were able to collect running shoes, clothing, and water bottles. However, as a high school-led initiative, we still need help in securing the funds to cover shipping and start-up costs in Sri Lanka. Your donations will allow us to complete these final steps in establishing NMY in Sri Lanka.

Regardless of whether you consider yourself a running enthusiast or a person simply interested in helping youth empowerment, your donations will aid a local high school-led nonprofit in achieving its ultimate goal of creating a platform for youth running in an under-resourced setting.
