Hello, I am the wounded Nesma

Muhammad Arhaim from Gaza. I deliberated extensively before sharing my story. Asking for help is not in my nature, yet the specter of death and fear looms over me.

Before October 7th, I lived an ideal life with my husband and children: Zakaria, aged eight, Tasbih, aged six, and Fadi, aged three. I had a wonderful home, a loving husband, a car, and a life of luxury.

Then, the cursed war swept in, taking everything from me. My house was destroyed, and my family lay buried beneath the rubble. Only my children and I survived. I struggle to grasp the meaning of survival. I sustained severe injuries; my spleen and pancreas were removed, and my liver, stomach, and intestines were wounded. Despite enduring numerous surgeries, I have battled death time and again for the sake of my children. I want to live for them.

I don't want to experience death again. I don't want my family to live what I lived. Please help my children survive. Help them escape the war. Help them live their childhood. I love my children very much. They are my life. Help them survive.

I hold onto hope, believing in the power of kindness and love to work miracles. Even the smallest act of generosity can bring joy to a soul and reignite hope. I trust that every good heart will help me begin anew.
