Nepal needs HELP and right now!!! Hundreds of people are suffering and dying in Nepal due to a new strain of Covid-19 as we read this text. A second wave has swept across the country, hospitals are operating in full capacity, health care workers are overwhelmed and people are losing their loved ones without getting any treatment. Acute shortage of vital equipment and oxygen is causing a massive humanitarian crisis in the country.

As the country is pleading for international help all around the globe, this is an effort from a team of professionals from Nepal to reduce the burden of crisis on people by helping them with basic medical supply/counselling and foods. The fund raised will be used to support and feed low income daily wage earners and their children living in poor residential areas/slums.

Our goals include distributing food supplies such as rice, bread, wheat flour, soya nuggets, potatoes, and non perishable food items. We will be providing: 15 kg rice, 2 packet salt, 5 bars of soap, 3 litre oil, 3 kg daal/lentil, 2 pack of spices, 5 kg potato, 5 kg chiura, 2 kg sugar, 1 dozen biscuit, 1 pack of soya nugget, 1 kg onion and 1 kg kwati(mixed legumes), 2 kg of wheat to each family which is sufficient for 1.5 months. The package we are trying to provide each family will approximately cost Rs 5000(around USD 42). If we can collect our target fund amount, we will be able to feed 60 families for 6 months.

A team of professionals in Nepal will be in charge for distribution of essential goods. An expense report will be published and shared among the donors periodically. Meanwhile, I'm a registered nurse currently employed with a hospital in Louisiana in the United states, who in support with other Nepali residents have decided to join in an effort to support humanity during this extremely unfortunate situation. This cause means so much to us because of our loved ones we have lost during this pandemic. Our country is suffering, and we want to help in any way possible. Pray for Nepal!!!
