Help Nenise Heal: Support Her Journey From Devastating Crash
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my mother, Nenise John, who was involved in a catastrophic car accident on June 8, 2025. While driving to work at 5:00 a.m., she was struck head-on by an intoxicated driver who was traveling on the wrong side of the highway.
The impact of the crash left my mother with life-altering injuries, including:
- A broken femur
- A fractured left foot
- A dislocated right foot
- Both ankles broken
- Three broken ribs
- A broken nose
She has since undergone multiple surgeries and has spent several weeks in inpatient rehabilitation, where she’s been receiving intensive physical therapy and round-the-clock care. Despite her strength and determination, Nenise remains non-weight bearing and still cannot walk or stand on her own.
Tragically, her no-fault insurance has now run out, and her primary health insurance is refusing to cover her continued stay at the rehabilitation center, citing a “lack of progress.” Although they’ve agreed to cover 30 days of intensive rehabilitation at a later date, they are discharging her this coming Tuesday, long before she is ready.
At home, she will face a drastic reduction in care:
- Only 3 days a week of home health aide support (compared to the 7 days she received in rehab)
- Only 2 days a week of in-home physical therapy (previously 5 days per week)
This sudden shift threatens to stall — or even reverse — her recovery. Nenise still requires extensive assistance with daily activities, pain management, and physical therapy to regain mobility. Without consistent care, her healing process is at serious risk.
That’s why we are asking for your support.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Hiring home health aides to provide consistent daily support
- Paying for additional physical therapy sessions to maintain and build on her progress
- Covering medical equipment, transportation, and home modifications needed for safe recovery
Whether you’re able to give financially or simply share this message with others, your support means the world to us. Every bit of help will bring us closer to ensuring Nenise receives the care she deserves.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Chris Cole (Nenise’s son)
