Help Nellie Return Home Safely

Friends and Family,

We are making this Go Fund Me to help get Nellie back home from Mexico. She has been in Mexico, enduring unimaginable hardship. She has faced abuse and has been without access to the vital medications she desperately needs for her health. 2 months ago, she went missing and we were unable to locate her or her whereabouts. With the help of the Mexican authorities, we were able to reunite her with family last week. As many of you may know Nellie is diabetic and has been through a great ordeal that has put her life at risk due to being without her diabetes medication for so long. We would like to respect her privacy and not share every detail she has encountered but she was assaulted and all her legal documents stolen. Her strength and resilience have carried her this far, but she needs our help to make it back home to a place of safety, love, and healing. We are raising funds to cover travel expenses, necessary medical care and support for her recovery as she reunites with us back home.

She is currently hospitalized and not well enough to reach out to others but we can definitely relay any well wishes. Her discharge from the hospital is October 14th and will fly home to the US. Once she is home in the US then she can continue the care she needs here with the help of family and friends around her. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way in making sure she can return home and start rebuilding her life. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
