Hello everyone my name is Heather, I am originally from Jamaica and am now a citizen of the United States residing in New York. I am raising money for my cousin and his family, who were severely affected by Hurricane Melissa, here is his story.

My name is Neil, and we live in Jamaica. This is my family, all 6 of us. Hurricane Melissa recently destroyed many parts of our home and there are no words to describe the trauma and wounds we now carry.

We still have a roof over our heads, our life, hope, and an unwavering belief that G-d will take us through this. We are grateful for every blessing and every kindness from the Most High.

For us, our property was damaged significantly; trees falling on roofs destroying exterior parts of the home, fences torn down, barbed wire ripped off, our back gazebo crushed, and window and light damaged. Our fences are a big part of our security systems, and our gutters catch rainwater which is our only source of bathing and drinking water, so repairing both of these is key.

No one likes to ask for help, but sometimes you can’t do it alone. We’ve already started to clear trees but the rest we need help to complete, so we are asking if you could help us reach our target of raising funds to complete the repairs and restore our home.

We are not just waiting around for help, I’ve got a chain saw and we are clearing the trees, but we need help to do the next part of the reconstruction.
