Hi, my name is Jonathan and I am fundraising for Nedaa Al-Shanti, a widow living in Gaza. Nedaa's husband, the breadwinner of the family, was martyred during the war on the Gaza Strip. As a result, Nedaa is now a single mother living with her thirteen year old daughter. Nedaa does all that she can to support her daughter, but she has no source of income.

In addition to the terrible loss of her husband and consequential hardships, Nedaa and her daughter have no home to shelter them. Their house was completely destroyed by Israeli bombing. For many months they have now been living in a makeshift tent which lets in the rain and the bitter cold.

Nedaa needs help to pay for her medical issues. She suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes for which she needs medication. She also requires eye drops which she has to purchase every month at a high cost.

On top of the medical issues, there are the everyday costs to find food, water and warm clothes in Gaza, simply in order to survive. Because food prices in Gaza are so expensive, the family suffers from a lack of basic nourishment.

UPDATE 30 AUGUST 2025: 

Nedaa and her daughter are alive and living in Northern Gaza. Currently they are threatened by the invasion of North Gaza and may need to evacuate to the south imminently. They are ill-prepared for such a move due to lack of money. They are very in need of support for both accommodation (they have no tent) and also for food. If you are able to help with a donation that would be greatly appreciated. A friend in Gaza recently went to visit Nedaa and he told me these exact words: "She deserves donations more than anyone else." Thank you.
