Art has always been a part of me. It was a part of me when I doodled on the backs of permission forms as a 7 year old (sorry, mom!) and it is just as much a part of me now when I center a lump of clay or sketch a series of figures. However, as I have gotten older I have found it harder to make time to nurture my creativity with all the other clubs, teams, and classes I belong to. This spring, I was granted the opportunity I have been longing for: a scholarship to attend Interlochen Center for the Arts for a Visual Arts program this summer.

Interlochen Center for the Arts is a prestigious arts school which boasts staff who are masters of their craft, a state of the art campus, and gorgeous location in Northern Michigan. Attending Interlochen would be a dream come true for me as a chance to take my artistic skills to a new level and build friendships with equally talented peers. After years of feeling like I have been neglecting my artistic potential, this is my chance to realize it.

I am incredibly honored to have been recognized with a partial scholarship to attend Interlochen, but I need some help to cover the remaining costs of attendance. I appreciate any gift, however great or small, that helps me on my journey to being the best artist I can be. It has always been the joy my art brings others that compels me to keep creating, and I hope that by attending Interlochen, I can refocus on my love of bringing beauty to the world.
