Help Nana & Papa Rosemurgy Weather Hurricane Ian

My grandparents, Bill and Jeanne Rosemurgy — otherwise affectionately known to all as Nana & Papa — were severely impacted by Hurricane Ian in Fort Myers, Florida, today. While we don't yet know the full extent of the damage, their home is flooded, along with most of their belongings.

Nana and Papa leave an impression on everyone they meet. Papa has the biggest heart — and the best laugh — and Nana is endlessly creative, smart, and strong. Together, they are the epitome of unconditional love and kindness, graciousness and selflessness. My happiest memories of my childhood are with Nana and Papa at our family cottage, playing games and swimming in Lake Superior and roasting marshmallows over the fire. Nana makes and sells beautiful textiles, and Papa works at a marina on Sanibel Island. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this year.

There are a lot of unknowns right now — we don't know what can be saved from their home, and we don't know when Papa can get back to work, but we do know that they could use some help. Your support will help cover their hotel stay and other living costs, in addition to the damage caused to their home and belongings. I'll post details and updates as soon as we learn more.

Earlier tonight, Papa texted me: "We're okay. Our house is flooded, everything is ruined, but we have our lives." And while I will forever be grateful that they are safe and healthy, I'm devastated by their loss. They haven't asked for this, so I'm asking for them. Let's help Nana and Papa weather this storm together ❤️ Thank you, so so much.
