HELP NADIIA REBUILD AFTER SQUIRREL HILL APARTMENT FIRE
On September 9th, a devastating fire tore through an apartment building in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, causing a partial collapse and destroying nearly everything inside. Among the residents affected is my mother-in-law, Nadiia.
Nadiia originally came to the United States for a short-term visit in 2021. But during her stay, the war in Ukraine permanently displaced her from her home. She is now working toward U.S. citizenship and has found part-time work here, but it is not nearly enough to cover the cost of starting over from nothing.
The fire has left her without her clothing, belongings, and the modest stability she was beginning to build here. While emergency responders and relief groups have offered immediate help, Nadia faces the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding her life from scratch for a second time in a new country.
We are asking for your support to help Nadia replace essentials like clothing, household items, and furniture, and to get back on her feet during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation,no matter the size, will make a difference and show her she is not alone. Thank you for helping us surround Nadia with compassion and community as she works to begin again.
NOTE: Dmytro is Nadiia's son and will manage all donations on her behalf.
