Help a Maasai Girl in Kenya Access Education & Change Her Future
In a small Maasai community in Kenya, a bright young girl Myrrah dreams of going to school—of learning, growing, and one day helping her family and village. But like many families in rural Kenya, her parents face daily challenges just to meet basic needs like food, shelter, and healthcare. Education, though deeply valued, is often out of reach.
For Maasai girls especially, access to education can mean the difference between a life limited by circumstance and a future full of choice, dignity, and opportunity. School fees, uniforms, books, and basic supplies are barriers this loving but struggling family simply cannot overcome alone.
This fundraiser is about hope.
It’s about giving one girl the chance to learn, to stay in school, and to build a future where she can stand strong and independent.
Every contribution—no matter how small—will go directly toward:
School fees
Uniforms and books
Basic educational supplies
Ongoing support to keep her in school.
By supporting this family, you’re not just helping one child—you’re investing in a future teacher, leader, or role model who can uplift her entire community.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser also makes a huge difference.
Thank you for opening your heart and standing with this Maasai family. Together, we can turn compassion into lasting change.
Hello friends,
My name is Murali. I live in waterford, Virginia. It was my privilege to meet a Masai warrior, Andrew, during my recent trip to Kenya. From the moment I first met him, he made an immediate longstanding impression with his knowledge, behavior, communication, talent, and sense of humor. He currently works as a security guard at a safari camp and earns around 20000 kenyan shillings (around 150 dollars) a year. He works 2h away from home in Masai Mara, away from his remote village near Lemek Kenya. His village is 45 mins from the nearest town, lemek and they often walk to the town to buy stuff. He has a wife (emma), 3y old daughter Myrrah, 2 mo old son Markan. In addition He currently supports his mother and 3 siblings who live with him and takes care of all the siblings education and financial needs. Myrrah is attending a private school. Andrew is determined to give good education and best life to his kids. He currently is selling his cows to pay for term fees that are 30000 kenyan shillings. Given his low income he has to frequently borrow or sell his cows or goats to make ends meet. In addition He pays for education for his 2 dssters and brother. The nearest water source is 30 mins away and involves walking thru jungle with wildlife including elephants hyens and leapords. He pays someone that has a motorbike to fetch water daily for his family and also to take his daughter to school.
Andrew is an ardent Christian and lives a traditional masai life with full Christian values. He is a pure soul and extremely polite, well mannered and disciplined. He believes in helping his community and cares about lot for the environment. For a person who grew up in remote kenyan village as a shephard who just attended primary school in remote masai world, I am blown away by his English and knowledge of modern world and familiarity with technology. He underwent 2 years rigorous national volunteer training that earned him the security job. His wife takes care of home and his 2 acre land and cattle while he works away from home. He is extremely family oriented and loves his family you death and respects his elders. No wonder I instantly connected with him and consider him to be my god sent masai son. I am in daily communication with him and he frequently consults me on his endeavors. I have been providing some financial support but I feel I can do more by this fundraising to help Andrew settle in his life. Recently I purchased a 5000 liter water tank, solar panels. I also sent money for Xmas to buy food and clothes for his family.
I am setting up this gofundme to further help fund myrrah's education and to help Andrew set up his small business to raise goats and sheep as a guaranteed source of income for the family and supplement his income.
I would love to raise 5000 to 7500 US dollars which is 644k to 966k kenyan shillings, a comfortable amount to support this blessed family. I am committed to helping this family and continue to find opportunities to support them as long as I live. I want to thank everyone who took time to read those and decided to contribute whatever amount you can. Even if it is a dollar. God bless. Let's spread our love.
Regards,
Murali
