Hi, I’m Sheyla! I wanted to start this GoFundMe to pay my parents' rent for the month. My parents are street vendors in LA, and they haven’t been working since Friday when the raids in Ambience took place and everything unfolded. They’ve been too scared to go outside, rightfully so. However, we have bills to pay, and as vendors, they make money for their daily needs day to day. Yesterday was their first day back on the street selling. I really didn’t want them to go, but they insisted they have to work. They are extremely hardworking, and it’s embedded into them to work. My mom is diabetic and can’t see too well. My dad has a limp and can’t walk very fast. I’m scared if anything were to happen, they wouldn’t be able to be fast. I want to raise at least the month's rent for them. I want to show them a little bit of money so I can convince them to stay inside for the rest of the month.

My parents have been servicing our community for 18 years. They’ve watched kids grow in front of them. Some have kids now too. They are a staple of their community, but I need the community’s support right now. Right now, I’m the only one in my family that can go outside. I’m also the youngest, so it’s been a lot of pressure on me to be on standby while also working. Anything helps, really.
