Help my uncle Corey and aunt Sonya

My family was fortunate to have dodged COVID-19 up until recently, that is. My 51-year-old uncle Corey tested positive about 5 or 6 weeks ago. His health spiraled quickly. I can hand over my heart say that COVID-19 is no joke. It’s not just a cold or the flu. My uncle has been in the ICU ventilated in Portland for 5+ weeks and has contracted 3+ different kinds of pneumonia, literally struggling to stay alive. They want to do a tracheotomy on him but cannot until his health gets a bit better. I’m creating this fundraiser to help my aunt Sonya keep some form of sanity during this heart-wrenching chapter we are all in. She has recently driven to Portland on the weekends to see Corey for 1 hour a day. 60 minutes. That’s all she is allowed. Corey has missed their wedding anniversary and Valentine’s Day. They have two boys who want nothing more than to have their dad back home and two dogs who are confused and wondering where he’s been.

 

On top of all this heartache, we are living in some trying times. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and the cost of living isn’t cheap. So I want to take some of this burden off of my aunt Sonya’s shoulders so that maybe she can breathe just a tiny bit better.

 

So here I am. Asking for help. You can donate ANY amount to help with gas, car maintenance, groceries, maybe even a to-go meal, so she doesn’t have to cook. Any amount will help.
