I started this GoFundMe to raise money for my dear friend Zak to make the move to Colorado and start a new life here! He has been through hell and deserves to thrive. With your help I can make that happen for him.
I met Zak at a Dharma Ocean retreat in Crestone, CO a few years ago. From the moment I met Zak, I felt like he understood and supported my unique gender identity. He is a fearless warrior who never fails to be himself, despite the struggles he has gone through, which inspires me to fully be myself.
Zak has a Master of Philosophy in Film Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a minor in world literature, performance, queer theory, and philosophy. He is also a talented singer-songwriter. The talent of this human is crazy!!! I so want him to succeed.
He has been stuck in rural upstate New York where he has worked back-breaking jobs with low pay for years. He has wanted to move to Colorado since we first met.
I am trying to raise funds to enable Zak to move to Colorado by October 1st! I have talked with Zak about his resource needs and put together a complete breakdown of how the funds will be spent:
