Hi, my name is Ela and I’m fundraising for my step dad who was severely injured in a tragic accident.

Not long ago, he was healthy and full of life. That day, he was biking to work — just like always. In a single moment, everything changed.

He was struck by a car and rushed to the hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. He suffered multiple rib fractures, punctured lungs, a fractured pelvis, a broken leg, a severe brain injury, and permanent loss of vision.

He remained in a coma for six weeks while doctors fought to save his life. His family never left his side.

He woke up — but his life will never be the same.

Today, he is blind and unable to care for himself. He cannot move, eat, or manage daily activities without constant assistance. He requires ongoing medical care and intensive rehabilitation.

My mom is caring for him 24 hours a day. She does everything — feeding him, helping him move, managing his needs — but she is physically exhausted and emotionally overwhelmed. We are doing everything we can to support them, but this situation is bigger than our family alone.

The costs of rehabilitation, medical equipment, and long-term care are overwhelming.
