My son is currently in prison in Italy. He’s a recovering addict, bravely facing his demons and working hard to rebuild his life — learning to read and write in Italian, staying clean, and holding onto hope in very tough conditions.
A UK charity, Prisoners Abroad, has kindly donated £290 towards travel, for which I’m incredibly grateful. But there are still many basic, meaningful things I’d love to provide that could truly support his wellbeing:
I’m raising funds to help get him:
Books (in English and Italian – for learning and escape)
️ Pens, paper, and colouring pencils to express and reflect
A CD player & some music CDs to lift his spirits
Light summer clothes & sliders
Basic food supplies
Phone credit so he can stay in touch with family
This isn’t about luxury — it’s about dignity. It’s about helping someone stay connected to their humanity while they find their way back to themselves.
If you can donate — even just a few pounds — it would mean the world. If not, a share is just as powerful.
Thank you for reading and for supporting second chances.

. Update – Preparing for Winter
Firstly, thank you again to everyone who has supported, donated, or shared. Your kindness has helped my son hold onto hope in a really difficult situation.
I’m planning to visit him again before winter kicks in. With the cold months approaching, there are new needs that I’d love to be able to provide for him:
Warm winter clothes & a duvet
Smart clothes for court (we are still waiting on dates)
A CD Walkman & some music CDs
More books (English & Italian for learning)
Art supplies to help him focus and express himself
These aren’t luxuries — they’re about dignity, warmth, and keeping his mind strong through the winter and the challenges ahead.
If you’re able to help — whether by donating a small amount or sharing this fundraiser — it would mean the world to both of us. Every little step of support makes a big difference inside those walls.
Thank you for walking this journey with us.
