Dear friends and family,
As I communicated last week, my brother-in-law, Stan Matwijiw, has cancer. He will undergo major invasive surgery on June 24th followed by many unknowns. Stan's parents, whom reside in Canada, have been apart from Stan, Christina and their two grandchildren for 1.5 years due to the COVID border restrictions from Canada to the US. Today they were denied at the border even with a medical letter in hopes to be there for their Son. Stan's parents help during surgery and recovery will allow my sister Christina to be at the hospital and to also continue working during recovery. I do not know how else to help them so I am on a personal mission "operation aunt missy" to raise funds to allow for his parents to take a helicopter from Canada to US next Tuesday. Travel arrangements are being worked on as we speak but I want to alleviate the burden and stress of the cost. They need to remain calm and 100% focused on Stan's well being and recovery and their two children.
100% of the funds raised will go to the helicopter ride both ways - anything additional raised will be used will be donated to Cancer research. Thank you so much for support.
With love,
Melissa
