Help My Sister Through Pregnancy Complications

Hi. I'm Nadia, and I'm raising money for my little sister. She's 5 months pregnant and is experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum (HG). Due to the severe symptoms she is experiencing, she is unable to work and her medical bills are rapidly growing.

Her husband is working overtime to compensate for the lost income, and because of this, he has limited time to be home (or at the hospital) to help her and be with her. They live in Arizona with no family close by to help as we all live in South Carolina. Being so far away, we feel incredibly helpless and hate we can't be there to help DJ take care of her. I feel the VERY least I can do from so far away is try to help them financially.

We are trying to raise at least $6,500 to cover her insurance deductible, though we know her medical bills from the hospital stays will be thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars.

Here's a timeline of events to help you understand what she's been going through.

September 2023 - Paige had a miscarriage at 8 weeks.

February 2024 - Paige had her second miscarriage.

March 9, 2024 - Paige & DJ conceived.

May 9, 2024 - They shared the good news with family.

May 19, 2024 - Paige goes to the ER for severe nausea, vomiting, and dehydration.

May 21, 2024 - Paige was admitted to the hospital for severe nausea, vomiting, dehydration, and inability to keep food or liquids down. She spent 2-3 days in the hospital.

May 27, 2024 - Our mom flies out to Arizona to help Paige as her symptoms continue to get worse. She's around 11 weeks at this time, has lost about 20lbs and weighs about 105 lbs at 5'10.

June 1-2, 2024 - Paige has a couple of "better" days but begins experiencing constipation along with the previous symptoms. Our mom flies back to SC.

June 3, 2024 - I fly out to Arizona to find Paige frail, skin and bones, weak, lightheaded, and unable to keep any liquid or food down.

June 5, 2024 - I take Paige to a doctor's appointment. She gets blood drawn. Doctors are keeping an eye for Factor V (a genetic blood clotting disease we all have).

June 6-8, 2024 - Paige is able to eat and keep food down, is able to work a day or two, and I fly home to SC.

June 10, 2024 - Paige begins IV treatments at the hospital to keep her hydrated and to provide additional nutrition necessary to keep the baby and her healthy. She's still experiencing severe nausea but able to keep light food down like saltine crackers.

June 15-20, 2024 - Still experiencing severe symptoms and is admitted to hospital after IV treatment on June 20th due to throwing up blood and has lost another 3lbs. Doctors try stabilizing her since she hasn't eaten in days. Ultrasound is done to check on baby girl, and she is ok.

June 29-July 18, 2024 - Paige begins seeing some improvements and is able to eat and keep down some food. Infusion treatments continue. Paige is able to work a few days here and there. Meds seem to be helping and nausea is less severe.

July 20, 2024 - Paige is admitted to the hospital again due to severe nausea, vomiting, inability to to keep food and liquid down, and dehydration.

July 27, 2024 - Paige is discharged from hospital. As of right now, Paige is able to keep some food and liquid down. Baby Girl is healthy, very active, and growing.
