My name is Tom and I created this GoFundMe to help my sister, Janis Risse, and her three children through a very devastating situation. My sister’s husband George Risse suffered a major stroke on January 10th while traveling home with his family from Florida. The stroke was caused by a dissection of the aorta artery. By the time he made it through open heart surgery, the stroke had done significant damage. The doctors said he will have permanent physical and mental disabilities. George will never be able to work again, and he will need long-term assisted care. He is currently in a hospital in Gainesville, FL. My sister and the children are facing a very dire financial situation since they depended on George’s income. George is a veteran who served in the Air Force for over 20 years. He is a loving father and family man and was always ready and willing to help anyone in need.
