Help My Sister Pay the Debt for Bringing My Nephew to Safety

Dear friends and family,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister and nephew, who have gone through an incredibly challenging journey. My 20-year-old nephew recently fled Ukraine, where he was being drafted into the war. With the conflict starting right as he turned 18, his life was suddenly upended, and escaping the country became his only option.

Attempting to cross on his own, he was initially detained, but my sister was able to find a way to get him safely across the border. To do this, she had to hire someone to help him cross from Ukraine into Romania, where she could meet him. The entire process was extremely difficult and has left her with a debt of about $15,000.

My nephew is now safe in the Czech Republic, and he has started working to build a new life. However, the debt from his escape needs to be repaid by the end of this year, and it’s been a major strain on my family.
