On Wednesday September 3rd, my sister and 7-year-old nephew were in a terrible car accident. We are beyond grateful that they both walked away alive, but the experience has left them shaken, with minor injuries and a lot of emotional trauma to recover from.
The accident was not her fault, but it has left her facing major challenges. Her car was completely totaled, and at the time of the crash, her insurance was in transition. After being unexpectedly removed from our State Farm bundle, she was in the process of switching to Allstate — which meant she had no active coverage when the accident happened.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time. My sister had just been accepted to DePaul University (her dream school) where she was set to begin working toward her bachelor’s degree this fall. She has worked so hard to reach this point, but now she is forced to put her education on hold as she prioritizes her son’s healing, medical bills, and replacing her car.
Right now, she is facing:
• Hospital and medical bills from the accident
• Therapy costs for my nephew, who is struggling with trauma after the crash
• The urgent need for reliable transportation so she can continue providing for her family
We are reaching out for help during this difficult time. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward medical expenses, therapy for my nephew, and helping my sister replace her car so she can rebuild and, eventually, return to school.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this with others who may be able to help. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for your kindness and support.
