Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my sister Dwan. (On the left in the photo with me above.)
As some of you know, and most of you might not know until now, my sister Dwan has been diagnosed with cancer. It started as stage 4 melanoma that was aggressive and spread to her lymph nodes. They did surgery and got the cancer out in that area. But a month later she was having really bad pain and went to the ER and found out it metastasized to her liver. Then a day later she found out it also spread to her spine and uterus. This is just what the ER told her. May 14th, her oncologist took a look at all the scans and tests and let her know it has spread to all her organs and bones. It is aggressive and they are going to start a treatment plan of immunotherapy.
I am starting this fundraiser with the idea of being able to take my sister where ever she wants to travel. We were planning to go on a road trip to New Orleans the beginning of June before we found out how bad her cancer was. I would like to still take her on that trip if she feels up to it. If she is not feeling good enough to go anywhere or doesn’t want to go anywhere, all of this money will be going straight to her. No matter what, this is all for her. If only money could buy a cure for terminal cancer..
She is no longer able to work and is at home on pain meds and sleeping most of the time.
