After 10 years in the same home, my parents recently learned that the house we live in is being put up for sale. This means our family may have to leave the place that has been our home for the past decade.
When we moved from Chile, we didn’t have a place of our own and stayed with friends and family while my parents worked hard to get on their feet. Finding this house was the moment our family finally felt stability while starting a new life in this country. Over the years my parents made this house their own. From painting the walls to caring for the yard and filling the home with love.
Through job changes and uncertain times, they always did everything they could to keep a roof over our heads. Our landlord kindly offered my parents the chance to buy the house first, but the financial requirements to do so are extremely high. I created this fundraiser to help them explore purchasing the home or, if that isn’t possible, help them transition to another stable place without overwhelming financial stress.
