My parents, Sharona and Benjamin Apassingok, are facing eviction from their home in Alaska at the worst possible time. The temperatures are in the negatives, and the thought of them having to sleep in their car is heartbreaking. I work at the Aurora Inn Hotel, which is the only hotel available, but the cost is far beyond what we can afford for a week. We simply do not have the funds to cover this, and I am deeply worried about their safety and well-being.

The funds raised will go directly toward a one-week stay at the Aurora Inn Hotel, giving them a safe and warm place to stay while they search for a new home. They have a little money for food, but not enough to cover these emergency costs. Other organizations have turned us away, and it feels like no one wants to help hardworking people avoid sleeping in the cold.
