Hi, my name is El and I have been the luckiest girl in the world to be raised by the most incredible, selfless, soul healing women named Irene. When I was in Year 11 (2010) my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She battled intense, crushing treatment to put her in remission. Fast track nearly 11 years and we found out in 2021 that the cancer was back- Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in the bone.

Mum has managed to do well on treatment options, however last week, her re-scan showed the treatment had stopped working. Now due to commence Palliative Chemo, the road looks rough and uncertain.

Now, this is where you all come in.

Everyone says their mum is the most selfless person on the planet, but down to my core I know she is something else. This women dedicated her entire working career as a nurse, helping people in all walks of life. Mum has given to us kids a life we could only dream of, but in doing this, and then getting sick, she has put off things she has wanted for herself.

Mum bought her little home all by herself, and dreamed of completing small, but meaningful renovations such as a small deck out the back, and some basic cosmetic work in the kitchen.

This home will be my mums final place. It is where she wants to stay as she becomes progressively more unwell, and with my families help we are going to make sure this happens. My aim is to give her the chance to see if the way she envisioned it when she purchased it.

Help us give her the home she deserves, and a place she can be proud of.
