Help My Mum Recover From a Scam– Rebuilding Our Relationship

Hi, I’m Daniel and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share a difficult situation my mum is facing.

Over my life, my relationship with my mum has been strained, and I made the difficult decision to leave. However, I’ve recently returned with the intention to rebuild our bond, and in the process, I’ve learned that my mum fell victim to a scam.

A person, pretending to be me, contacted her and manipulated her into sending $4000. Out of desperation, my mum sent the funds. This was a devastating blow not just to her financially, but also emotionally, as it took a toll on her sense of trust. Seeing her heart sink when I saw her realise she didn't send the money to me tore me up inside. This was all after our pet Ginger of 24 years had to be put down so her and my emotion is very volatile at the moment.

My mum's not perfect and neither am I but she never deserved this. I want to do everything I can to help her recover both financially and emotionally. The $4000 may seem like a lot, but the emotional toll this has taken on her is far greater. I realise she’s been through so much, and I want to be there for her as she faces this challenge.

I’m reaching out now, not just to raise money to help get my mum back on her feet, but also to seek support as I work to rebuild our relationship. We’ve both made mistakes in the past, but I do not want to live my life in spite and am learning to forgive. I believe this is the best 2nd step, the 1st being me seeing her.. I want her to have no doubts that I love her.
