There are people in this world who give without ever asking for anything in return. My mom is one of those people. She has spent her life showing up for others. Supporting, helping, and loving people as if they were her own, without hesitation and without expectation. Many of you have experienced her kindness firsthand. She is also a veteran, and the first in our family to purchase a home. That alone meant everything to us. It wasn’t just a house, it was a symbol of hard work, sacrifice, and building something that would last for generations. From the first family pictures filled with love and memories, to now seeing only the bench still standing, it hit me in a way I can’t fully explain. It was a reminder that life is short, and things can change in an instant. It felt like watching someone hit a home run, only to lose the very first ball that started it all.
Right now, she’s in a position where she has to start over. As a person that never asks for anything and has always been a blessing to everyone, at this moment I ask friends, family, and relatives to pour a little into my mom. I watched how she supported and helped everyone along the way, even my closest friends as her own children. She has never asked for anything in return, always being there before anyone even had to ask.
If you have it in your heart to give or to pour a seed, please do. It’s not about how much, it’s about helping someone start over from scratch. One day your childhood home is full of memories, then the next it’s just a memory. Thank you everyone.
