Help My Mom Heal After Her Stroke — Support Kelly’s Recovery
Donation protected
Hi friends,
My name is Ashley, and I’m reaching out with a hopeful heart and a heavy one too — to ask for support for someone incredibly special to me: my beautiful mom, Kelly.
At the end of April, our lives were turned upside down. My mom suffered a serious stroke that left her hospitalized and facing a long, uncertain road to recovery. As heartbreaking as that was, it became even more alarming when doctors reviewed her MRI results. They discovered that this was actually her second stroke — the first one likely happened without us even knowing. This most recent stroke, they believe, was a clear warning sign of something even more dangerous.
Kelly’s doctors found that both of her carotid arteries are severely blocked — one 90%, the other 80% — and she urgently needs two separate Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) surgeries to restore blood flow and prevent another stroke. The procedures must be done in stages: the first as soon as possible, the second three months later. Without these surgeries, the risk of a future, possibly devastating stroke remains dangerously high.
To make things even harder, my mom doesn’t have health insurance. That means every procedure, therapy session, medication, and hospital bill falls on us — and it’s more than we can manage alone.
That’s why we’re raising funds to support her recovery. These funds will go directly toward:
• Two rounds of Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) surgeries and follow-up care
• Ongoing speech therapy to help her regain her ability to communicate
• Essential medications needed for stroke prevention and recovery
• Hospital bills from emergency care, imaging, and specialists
• Post-surgical support and in-home care to help her regain her strength and independence
May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and this experience has made that awareness personal. Stroke doesn’t just happen to “other people” — it happened to my mom. But thanks to modern medicine, hope, and community, recovery is possible.
If you’re able to give, please know that every dollar goes directly toward saving her life and restoring her future. And if you can’t give right now, sharing this page or sending up a prayer means the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart — and my mom’s — thank you. Your kindness and support are helping us find light in the darkest of times.
With gratitude,
Ashley
