Help my mom buy an accessible van!

Donation protected
Hi! I’m fundraising on behalf of my mum, Margo Laing.

Her story:
In 2017, Margo suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, and a subsequent subarachnoid hemorrhage- one of the most dangerous strokes you can experience. Her chances were very slim. She spent weeks in a coma, and months hospitalized, and in rehab. In 2019 an infection in her skull called for another surgery. We waited months for the surgery, while watching her slowly deteriorate and lose all of the progress she had made. At some point while she was slipping away, she experienced another stroke. She fell into a coma, this time for a number of months. Her doctors told us she would never wake up, and that we should be planning for palliative care. Despite the odds, my mum eventually woke up. It took her 3 years to get to where she is now, though she still requires full, round the clock care, and is considered hemiplegic. We would love to see her find more joy in her life, and a big part of that is reliable transportation.

What we need:

We finally found an accessible van that will comfortably fit her wheelchair. Unfortunately, it’s a little out of our families budget. The van costs $9,000 dollars. We are hoping to crowd fund to cover some of the costs.

Thank you for reading, and for donating. If you aren’t able to donate, a share is lovely as well.
