Dear Friends, Past Donors, and Kind-Hearted Supporters,

My name is Himanshu, and some of you may remember me from earlier this year when I reached out for help on behalf of my parents after they fell victim to a devastating scam. Today, I write to you again with an update and a renewed appeal for support during this season of gratitude and giving.

My parents, aged 75 and 70, have spent their lives as pillars of love, kindness, and generosity—not only within our family of six children but in their wider community as well. However, their trusting nature was cruelly exploited in a way that deeply shakes us even today.

The scam began with a phone call. The man on the other end pretended to be one of my friends and even used a name that my parents recognized—someone they knew I was close to. He spun a desperate tale, claiming his life was in danger and urgently needed money. Moved by what they thought was a plea from someone connected to me, they transferred their carefully saved retirement funds in an act of compassion.

This wasn’t just money; it was the foundation of their financial security, saved over decades for their golden years. A portion of it was also meant to celebrate their upcoming 50th wedding anniversary—a milestone that embodies their unwavering love and partnership. Now, that dream feels distant, and their financial future is uncertain.

Thanks to the generosity of over 50 donors earlier this year, I was able to provide some relief to my parents. Your kindness brought light into a dark moment and helped ease their burden. However, the amount raised so far covered less than 10% of their total loss. The emotional scars of this event linger, but the financial strain continues to weigh heavily on them.

This Thanksgiving, I am reopening the campaign to seek further support. My hope is to give my parents a chance to rebuild, to recover their lost sense of security, and, most importantly, to celebrate their 50th anniversary with the joy they so richly deserve.
